The fact that your intended stylist doesn't hold a certificate in hair extensions shouldn't keep you away from having hair extensions done. All it means is that you need to be more vigilant in how you go about choosing your stylist.

The first thing you need to do before you choose a hair extensions salon is to ask the stylist for a free no obligation consultation meeting. A trustworthy stylist should be able to accommodate your request to seek as much information as you need to make an informed decision.

At the meeting you should ask the stylist how long they have been doing hair extensions. Generally, the longer the time the better their ability of doing hair extensions. Let your stylist look at your hair and have them recommend a good hair extension method that is suitable to your hair. There are different types of methods to do your hair extensions based on the type of hair. Your stylist should know what method to use on thin and thick hair and what the advantages and disadvantages of each method are. They should explain what method they are recommending and what the pros and cons are.

Every  stylist should show you a picture portfolio of their work, ideally with before and after pictures.Ask to know if they are willing to give you contact information to talk to some of their past clients. The willingness of a stylist to provide you with this information should go a long way in building a trusting relationship.
