Synthetic Hair Extensions
In this article we are going to discuss the different types of synthetic hair extensions, and their common uses.
Synthetic hair extensions are hair extensions made of chemically synthesized products. The two most common types of synthetic hair extensions are made from Kanekalon and Toyokalon.
Kanekalon is the more heat resistant of the two types of synthetic hair extensions. Kanekalon-based synthetic hair extensions are good up to 230 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes Kanekalon-based synthetic hair extensions better if you want to style your hair extensions with curling irons. They are also the more realistic looking type of the two types of synthetic hair with a better hue and texture and is more human hair looking. However, Kanekalon-based synthetic hair extensions tend to matte easier if not taken good care of.
Toyokalon hair extensions have a more shiny unnatural look to them but tend to matte less often.
Synthetic hair extensions are mostly used for weaving, braiding, and for cornrows. Most people choose synthetic hair extensions over human hair extensions because they are cheaper and for their durability when used in braiding and cornrows. However, they normally doesn’t last a long time when used in weaving and tend to depend on the quality of the synthetic hair extensions selected.
In conclusion, the following are the different types of synthetic hair extensions:
- Synthetic fusion hair extensions
- Synthetic wigs,
- Synthetic braids,
- Synthetic heat-resistant fusion
